Watch out when you buy from this builder

I bought a legacy home the builder did about a 7 out of 10 in my opinion. The company I bought the home through Austin mobile home was very mischievous and under handed in the way they do business. After my home was delivered the sales guy callued me and assured me all...

Terrible Factory Support

We have issues with all of the entry doors. They were installed out of square and either will not open or close. They factory will not come out to repair them even though their "warranty repairman" said they needed to be replaced. We have turned the issue over to the state housing inspector and he concluded that it was Legacy's warranty to replace and they still have not done anything. My suggestion is that if you are in the market for a manufactured home DO NOT even consider Legacy. Their service is terrible and the homes are poorly built. We paid top dollar and thought we were getting quality when in fact we got took.

Glad that your door situation was fixed. We apologize that this happened.

When you build over 3,000 homes a year, sometimes defects in materials happen. Thank you for your Legacy purchase!

Unfortunately, your review has nothing to do with Legacy Housing the builder. We do not deal directly to or interact with customers based on HUD laws and regulations.

This situation was with your retailer who sold you the home whom Legacy the builder has no control over.

On behalf of Legacy, we appologize for your treatment and will look into this matter to ensure customer service from retailers who sell Legacy homes better represents who we are as a company. Thanks for your comments.

I love Legacy Housing (the manufacturer)--- There's a difference btwn them and the "Outlet"

Legacy Housing LTD is the manufacturer of the homes. Right down the street from them is the "Legacy Outlet" who sells the homes. THIS is who you're talking about, not Legacy Housing Ltd. The "Outlet" is not a "discounted store for legacy housing homes"... It is just the name they chose for their location. People can name their company anything. This is why many people get Legacy Housing confused for the Legacy Outlet. As for your issues, they should have handled all of that at the dealership, Legacy Outlet. The factory and the manufacturer has nothing to do what that. The dealership should handle your service requests and the factory will be sure they handle it. The people there make all the difference. If they don't send in the request in a timely manner, then the factory won't know about it until later. Don't judge the whole manufacturer by this one location... I bought my home from Crazy Red's. She carries Legacy Housing products but handles her service and maintenance on her own instead of having the factory send people out. Her attitude makes a world of a difference! I went to the outlet first then decided I didn't like the way they talked to me and treated me.. it seemed shady. So I went shopping several other places and finally came across Christi. She treated me like an old friend instead of just another customer. She handled everything for me and moving was super easy. I told her my experience at the outlet and she told me the difference between the outlet and the actual factory (the manufacturer)- that is how I know this info. My experience was great! So, try other places before making one whole judgement- i am glad I did.

Yes, the Legacy Housing Outlet is a retailer of Legacy Housing the manufacturer, you are correct as we do not own or operate Legacy Housing the manufacturer. Half of the negative reviews on this Legacy Housing manufacturer page are related to customer service experiences of Legacy Housing Outlet.

Legacy Housing - Air Conditioning System Review from Houston, Texas

Legacy builds a house and does not build air conditioners! We apologize for your issues and the pain it caused you, but an A/C Unit has a warranty through the manufacturer that built said AC unit.

In a site built home when the A/C goes out you dont call the builder of the home, you call the manufacturer of the AC.

Thousands of AC units go out daily across America. It is unfair to blame Legacy Housing the home builder for your AC going out.

Legacy Housing - Mobile Home Review from Norwalk, Connecticut

We purchased a new 2014 legacy home and have been in it less than 5 months. It is literally falling apart. Everything is plastic and particle board even though we were made to believe we were paying for quality this home is cheap cheap cheap. We are supposed to have a warranty but have several complaints have been made both the dealer and manufacturer are just ignoring us. Buyer beware, legacy does not back up their claims.

Thieves. DON NOT BUY FROM LEGACY HOUSING, TINY HOUSE OUTLET, OR OPEN A LOAN THROUGH FEDERAL INVESTORS.

Poor Quality Construction Review

We bought a brand new house from them and since then they have refused and given us the run around on fixing mistakes that they caused on the house. They screwed up the roof because they were too lazy to try to fix it and my walls has lumps and holes in the. We've been in the house 2 years and no skirting. We've fought and fought and now we're done dealing with them. Never again.

Poor Craftmanship and Response

I am a mobile home park owner. I ordered and paid cash for 6 homes. Legacy arranged a delivery date and they were late by 4 weeks. When the homes arrived, the crew sent to install them, did the least they could do, and left without completing the installation 100%. After we brought the homes on line, we noticed a burning smell in 2 of them, which turned out to be incorrectly wired thermostats. Additionally, the floors had bubbles in the vinyl, the sinks had leaks, the toilets leaked and, there is not enough room here to list everything that was incorrectly installed or made. I called them back to correct the problems, and they fought me every step of the way. After 3 weeks of dealing with them, I am contacting an attorney to clean this up.

I been thinking about buying a legacy home from a dealer near me but I read so many reviews that are bad. Is it the quality of the home or the dealers that people are buying from that the problem with the set up of the home?
